GGI Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

At GGI, Playing Fair, Building Community is what it’s all about. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) outline the rules, expectations, and responsibilities for all members, participants, donors, volunteers, and visitors engaging with Giving Gaming Initiative, Inc. (“GGI,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).

By accessing our website, joining our membership program, participating in events, or communicating with us through SMS or email, you agree to these Terms.

2. Membership Eligibility
  • Members must be 18 years or older, or have verified parent/guardian consent.
  • Membership approval is at the discretion of GGI.

3. Conduct & Participation

All members and participants agree to:

  • Avoid harassment, bullying, cheating, discrimination, or disruptive conduct.
  • Follow all rules for gaming platforms, tournaments, and GGI‑hosted events.
  • Respect staff, volunteers, and event facilitators.
  • Maintain a safe environment for youth and families.

Violations may result in suspension or termination of membership or event access.

4. Membership Fees, Donations & Benefits
  • Certain membership tiers may require fees; all fees are non‑refundable unless otherwise stated.
  • Benefits may include access to exclusive events, gaming experiences, educational programs, and member‑only content.
  • Donations and ticket purchases processed through Zeffy or other platforms are subject to their respective terms.
5. Digital Platform Use (Website, Accounts, Portals)

By using GGI’s digital platforms, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information during registration or form submissions.
  • Not engage in hacking, misuse, or unauthorized access to GGI systems.
  • Not upload harmful, illegal, or inappropriate content.
  • Respect all intellectual property and copyright protections.

GGI may restrict access for violations or security concerns.

6. SMS/Text Messaging Terms

By providing your mobile number, you consent to receive SMS/text messages from GGI, including:

  • Event reminders
  • Membership updates
  • Donation confirmations
  • Community announcements
  • Emergency or safety notifications
SMS Consent & Opt‑Out
  • Message frequency varies.
  • Standard message and data rates may apply.
  • You may opt out at any time by replying STOP.
  • Reply HELP for assistance.
  • Opting out of SMS does not affect your membership status.

GGI does not sell or share phone numbers with third parties for marketing.

  • Content submitted to GGI (photos, videos, testimonials, gameplay clips) may be used for promotional, educational, or community purposes unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Members grant GGI a non‑exclusive license to use submitted content.
10. Event Participation & Safety

By attending GGI events, you agree to:

  • Follow all posted rules and staff instructions.
  • Participate at your own risk.
  • Respect venue policies and safety guidelines.
  • Allow GGI to use event photography or video for nonprofit promotional purposes unless you request otherwise.

GGI is not responsible for injuries, technical issues, or disputes arising from gaming activities.

11. Youth Protection & Parental Consent

GGI maintains strict youth safety standards:

  • Minors must have parent/guardian consent for participation.
  • Youth data is protected and never shared publicly.
  • Staff and volunteers follow confidentiality and safety protocols.
  • Parents may request removal of youth data at any time.
12. Liability & Disclaimer
  • Participation in GGI programs, events, or gaming activities is at your own risk.
  • GGI is not liable for technical failures, lost data, gameplay disputes, or third‑party platform issues.
  • GGI provides services “as‑is” without warranties of any kind.
  • GGI is not responsible for actions of third‑party vendors, platforms, or service providers.
13. Termination & Suspension

GGI may suspend or terminate membership or participation for:

  • Violations of these Terms
  • Safety concerns
  • Misconduct
  • Fraudulent activity
  • Abuse of GGI resources or platforms

Members may voluntarily terminate their membership at any time by written notice.

14. Refunds & Cancellations
  • Membership fees, donations, and ticket purchases are generally non‑refundable.
  • Refunds may be considered only in exceptional circumstances at GGI’s discretion.
  • Event cancellations will be communicated via email, SMS, or website updates.
15. Third‑Party Services

GGI uses trusted partners such as:

  • Zeffy (donations, ticketing, membership payments)
  • Mailchimp (email communications)
  • Google Voice/SMS (text messaging)
  • Website hosting providers

These partners maintain their own Terms & Conditions and privacy standards.
