Special Note to our leaving members: You have the option to cancel your membership at any time. However, before your cancellation is finalized, please review any outstanding obligations or responsibilities associated with your membership. Certain commitments, such as unpaid balances or contractual requirements, may need to be addressed before the cancellation can take effect. In accordance with Georgia law, we provide an easy online cancellation process. However, cancellation must also be supported by a secondary cancellation request from you. This can be done via email or in person with a written request for cancellation.

Steps to cancel membership…
1. General Cancellation Guidelines
1.1 Individuals may voluntarily cancel their involvement with GGI at any time by submitting written notice to the appropriate party (committee chair, trustee board, or GGI administration).
1.2 Cancellation shall not impact the individual’s ability to engage with GGI in the future unless specified under Section 5 (Restrictions Upon Rejoining).
1.3 Any outstanding responsibilities or commitments must be fulfilled or appropriately delegated before cancellation is finalized.
2. Notice Requirements
2.1 Committee Leaders & Members: A minimum of 60 days’ written notice is required to allow for a smooth transition and reassignment of responsibilities.
2.2 Trustees & Board Members: A minimum of 90 days’ notice is required. Additionally, an exit interview conference will be conducted to ensure continuity and support within the organization.
3. Financial Obligations
3.1 Any outstanding financial commitments (e.g., dues, event sponsorship, pledged donations or contributions) must be settled before cancellation is processed.
3.2 If a member has prepaid for services or events, refund eligibility will be determined based on event policies and the timing of the cancellation request. The determination MUST be made by a relevant governing body or GGI board member.
4. Protection of GGI Interests
4.1 Individuals who cancel their membership/involvement must continue to respect confidentiality agreements and may not disclose sensitive organizational information.
4.2 Any GGI property or assets in the individual’s possession must be returned immediately upon cancellation.
4.3 Former members must refrain from using GGI’s name or branding in any unofficial capacity following their departure.
5. Restrictions Upon Rejoining
5.1 Individuals who have canceled their membership/ involvement may reapply or reengage after 60 days, subject to approval by the relevant governing body. An Individual can apply for a One-Day membership until the rejoining period passes
5.2 If cancellation was due to misconduct or violation of organizational policies, reinstatement may be denied or reviewed under GGI’s ethical standards.
6. Exceptions & Appeals
6.1 Special exceptions may be granted in the cases of medical emergencies, family obligations, or extenuating circumstances. However, this must be approved by a relevant governing body/ board member
6.2 Appeals regarding cancellations, financial matters, or future rejoining requests can be submitted to GGI’s designated authority.
